Discover "El Jibarito de la Cajita Coloring App": Celebrating Puerto Rican Culture Through Technology

We celebrate the launch of "El Jibarito de la Cajita® Coloring App– Colores de Mi Isla (Colors of my Island)", an educational and cultural app that promises to bring Puerto Rico's rich heritage to children around the world. This collaboration between Haipriori and El Jibarito de la Cajita® represents much more than just a coloring app: it is a bridge to learning and celebrating our Puerto Rican identity.

How did the idea come to life?

The journey to this innovative app began in the Raising Entrepreneur Program (REP) at the Bravo’s Family Foundation, where Haipriori had the opportunity to connect with some of the talented creators of El Jibarito de la Cajita®: Jonathan Ocasio and Johnmichael Colón. Throughout the program, conversations sparked the idea for this collaboration. The concept was clear: to develop an educational app that not only included the beloved characters of El Jibarito de la Cajita®  but also incorporated music, instruments, colors, and other elements characteristic of Puerto Rican culture. 

As the Haipriori team explained, "We saw a great opportunity to bring Puerto Rican culture to different corners of the world, aligning this vision with our mission to foster cultural innovation and positively impact the community." Jonathan Ocasio also shared his perspective: "We wanted to create something that entertained children and connected them with their roots and with the rich culture of Puerto Rico. This app is a dream come true."

Innovation in App Development 

The app's development was an exciting process. Haipriori combined its technological expertise with the cultural elements of El Jibarito de la Cajita® to create a smooth, functional, and culturally faithful experience. From visual prototypes and device testing to payment setups and ongoing maintenance, each stage was crucial to ensuring a high-quality educational and cultural product.

An Educational and Cultural Mission

The main goal of this app is to offer a unique educational experience. As children explore the worlds of El Jibarito de la Cajita®, they learn about:

• Typical Puerto Rican instruments: such as the cuatro and maracas. 

• Local animals and objects: these are part of the biodiversity and traditions of Puerto Rico. 

• Colors and history: in an interactive and fun way.
